Billing & metering
Segal Cloud has one billing meter across every service. Each service emits typed
metered line items — { service, sku, region, quantity, unit, unitPrice, multiplier }
— to a single ledger. No service computes its own totals.
How metering works
Usage is recorded
Resources emit line items as they consume (GPU-seconds, GB-months, requests).
The region multiplier applies
Each region carries a multiplier applied at record time.
The ledger rolls up
Console → Billing shows spend by service, invoices, credits, and spend caps.
Spend caps
Hard stop
Set a per-org spend cap with a soft alert and a hard stop. When the cap is reached, new launches are paused automatically.
